Diamond Brite (Exposed Aggregate) Stain and Mottled Surface Handling Procedure |
|
| *Any of the pool products listed below can be purchased at a neighborhood pool store. Measurements are approximate and are based on a 12,000 gallon pool. This treatment works best in the wintertime when the water is cooler and less susceptible to algae growth. | |
1 |
De-chlorinate the pool water (After Shock is a product that can do this. Follow the directions on the container). Zero levels of chlorine is what is needed. |
2 |
Add 2 gallons of muriatic acid. It is recommended to combine the muriatic acid (1 gallon) with water (5 gallons) in a bucket outside the pool and then add to the pool water. The object is to lower the pH as much as possible. |
3 |
Turn the pump on to circulate the water continuously for 48 hours without interruption. |
4 |
After 48 hours, add 1 quart of Jack's Magic Blue and 2lbs of Iron Cobalt Treatment. Add 2 gallons of muriatic acid in the same manner as in Step #2. |
5 |
Circulate the water for 48 hours. Brush the pool daily. |
6 |
Return the chemicals to normal levels. Bring chlorine levels up gradually. Do not shock pool for 2 weeks. The pool may become cloudy. The filter should be cleaned out several times while the pool chemistry returns to normal. |
